Pre-production

Define the direction

The brief: Make hydration the story.

For Kapsu’s Hydra-Capsule Cream, the starting idea is to make hydration feel tangible—not simply show the jar. A distinctive hero image should draw people in and leave room for the campaign message.

The directionProduct first. A fresh, sensorial feel. Space for copy on the left of the wide frame.

The treatment: Give hydration a visual language.

Build the look around Kapsu’s cyan tub and pink identity. Matte glass, cyan translucent gel, white cream and defined highlights give hydration a tactile quality, while the angled product brings movement to the frame.

The directionA luminous blue world, a readable label and space for the campaign message.

The shot plan: Plan the hero before the shoot.

Map Kapsu’s angled tub, fluid movement and copy space before capture. Check the wide hero against portrait and story placements, so the product and its details have room to work.

Capture prioritiesA readable label, the matte-glass form, cyan translucent gel and white cream. These are framing studies for one hero—not three promised captures.

Production

Build and capture

Build: Turn the plan into a set.

We bring the product, surfaces and supporting elements together, testing how the composition works in front of the camera.

On setThe setup follows the image, not the other way round.

Light: Shape the light around Kapsu.

With the hard-light direction established, we bring in the key light to reveal the tub’s form and label. A flag then controls the light on the right, bringing depth back into the product.

On setExplore the base, key light and flagged setup to see how each decision shapes the image.

Capture: Four captures. One image to come.

We photograph a clean base and separate fluid passes, giving each detail its own moment. The strongest elements can then be brought together in the composite.

On setExplore the four source captures. Assembling and refining them comes next.

Post-production

Refine and adapt

Assemble: Bring the captures together.

We clean the background, isolate and retouch the product, then bring in the captured fluid details. Each element takes its place in one considered composition.

In the finishExplore the layers to see how the background, product and fluid details come together in the finished image.

Refine: Make the details count.

Retouching, colour and tonal adjustments bring the image into balance while keeping the product true to itself.

In the finishA considered finish, from the label to the smallest reflection.

Adapt: Give the image room to work.

The finished master can be shaped for a wide hero, a feed post or a vertical story. Separate product and background layers let the composition make room for each placement.

Ready for placementExplore Kapsu with and without campaign copy, then reposition the product to test its negative space. Final outputs are agreed around the brief.

Then, ready to use. Approved images are prepared and delivered in the agreed formats.

Soul Fruit

The creative approach

We brought Soul Fruit’s Chewy and Crunchy ranges to life with bursting fruit compositions, following the journey from fresh fruit to dried snacks. Across the range, we kept the fruit and packaging working together to tell the story.

What’s on
your mind?

Starting an idea, planning a shoot
or thinking about the final images?

Getting started

Do I need a finished creative brief?

No. Tell us about your product, what you want the images to achieve and where they’ll be used. References, brand guidelines and an idea of timing are helpful, but you don’t need to have every detail worked out. We can help shape the brief from there.

Can you help develop the visual direction?

Yes. We can develop a direction around your product and brand, build on an initial idea or work with a direction you already have. We consider colour, styling, lighting and composition together, shaping a set of images around the story you want to tell.

Planning the shoot

How will I review and approve the creative direction?

We share an initial direction as part of shaping the proposal. Once the project is booked, we develop it into a detailed visual plan covering the images, styling, formats and production needs. You review and approve that plan before the shoot, so we’re working towards the same result.

Can you arrange props, styling or specialist production?

We plan the props, styling and production around the agreed creative direction. If the idea needs specialist support or something sourced or made for the shoot, we discuss the options, responsibilities and costs with you before making arrangements. What’s included is set out in your proposal and shoot plan.

The final images

How are retouching and feedback handled?

We bring the strongest captures together and refine the images against the approved direction. Two rounds of retouching revisions are included for adjustments within the agreed brief. We ask you to gather your comments into one clear response for each round.

Can the images work across different formats and placements?

Yes. Tell us where the images will be used so we can plan the composition, crops and space for copy from the start. A website banner, social post and vertical story may each need a different approach. The required formats and adaptations are agreed as part of your project.
